What characterizes light roast coffee versus alternatives?
As the name suggests, the beans are light brown because they spend a short time in the oven. Additionally, you won't find essential oils there. Their taste is characterized by high acidity (not to be confused with sourness), which can be compared to an apple or cherry. You can feel fruity-citrus and floral notes there, and often also recognize the region where the bushes grow. In combination with alternative brewing methods, we will obtain nuanced flavors and we will feel every note precisely. Coffee from this category is devoid of the bitterness and astringency so characteristic of most industrially produced blends.
What light roast coffee alternatives does our store offer?
All of our roasted blends come from private plantations, where only ripe and carefully selected fruit is harvested. The bushes grow at high altitudes, which translates into the unique taste of the beans. You will find lightly roasted coffee for alternatives from Kenya, Indonesia, Nicaragua, Honduras or El Salvador with notes of orange, mango, papaya, white grapes and others. You can order whole or ground beans of the right thickness from us and brew them in a drip, aeropress, chemex, pot or Italian machine.
